Well, sort of. I actually spent the first week of this month in a typing frenzy and am happy to announce that Book 3 of the Half-Light series is finished and duly handed in to my lovely editor. It has a title, but I’m not sure if it’s final, so will announce that when I know. I’ve also just finished the page proofs for Blood Kin, so that’s the last time I’ll touch that story (cue writer paranoia). Always a bit of an odd moment. The book is never the perfect shiny thing it was when it was just an idea in your head, but I do like how Blood Kin has turned out. Hopefully I’ll get the okay to post the first excerpt soon.

Can we have another woot! as Shadow Kin has been nominated in the Sci Fi, Fantasy and Futuristic category of the 2011 Australian Romance Readers Association Awards. A huge THANK YOU to all those who nominated me, I’m thrilled. It’s a hot and sunny New Year’s Day here in Melbourne (and was a fairly hot New Year’s Eve). Hope you partied well last night, in whatever form you prefer…me, it was old movies and pizza due to the still-healing ankle. In other news, I have seen a hopefully-close-to-final version of the Blood Kin cover so should be able to share that with you all shortly. Supposedly. Melbourne is currently chilly. Which I prefer to stinking hot and humid, so I shall not complain.  I’m currently still buried in book three (a good distraction from my broken ankle (sigh, I am a klutz). There will be a contest before Christmas, so keep an eye on the blog.In other news, my awesome cover has finalled in Best Female cover and Best Debut cover in the All Things Urban Fantasy 2011 Cover Art Awards, so you can head on over and vote for it (and other great covers) should you feel so inclined. Hopefully there will be a Blood Kin cover to share before too long (only six months until Blood Kin is out!)

September sped by in a blur of book launching and other sundry activities. I swear I blinked and suddenly it’s October and Shadow Kin has been out for nearly a month already. Which means back to much type type typing on Blood Kin edits and Book three. It also means its slowly starting to get warmer here in Oz, that daylight savings has started this week which always confuses my brain and that there is less than three months until Christmas (there, I said it and who wants to join me in a chorus of “how the heck did that happen?”). I’m currently pondering some contest ideas, so keep an eye on the blog.

Only 3 days until release day! It’s the 4th here, so two days for me technically but it will be late on my 6th before it’s officially THE DAY.

I’ve been posting some glimpses into the book over on the blog…snippets from my soundtrack and collages.  A couple of people in the US have sighted Shadow Kin in the wild at Barnes and Noble, so everything is happening!
